N850 FishTale wants to tell a different story for our Oceans actively contributing to help protecting their delicate ecosystems from the threat of some of the pollutant materials that ends up at sea every year. Recent studies reports 14 million tons plastic – of which 640.000 tons fishing nets – are discarded at sea every year. After being abandoned, this fishing gear never stops fishing, killing every year hundreds of thousands of seabirds, marine animals and mammal species, by tangling on ingestion. These numbers represents a dramatic environmental call to action, that Hung Yen Knitting & Dyeing and Hyosung TNC have chosen to respond with their joint commitment.
